Gratin Of Potatoes - {Gratin Dauphinois}

Recipe Ingredients

8   Potatoes (medium)
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlWhite pepper
1   Grated nutmeg
1 cup 237mlScalded milk
1 cup 237mlLight cream
1   Egg - beaten
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozGrated Swiss cheese

Recipe Instructions

Peel potatoes and cut into slices approximately 1/4-inch thick. In a bowl, combine potatoes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, cream, egg, and grated cheese. Turn mixture into a buttered baking dish. Dot with butter. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, or until potatoes are tender and top is browned. Serve hot.
